Brief CV
Leon Tan, PhD, is an art and cultural historian, psychoanalyst and occasional curator and maker of interdisciplinary projects. He has curated new media projects in sites such as Digital Arts Week (Zurich) and ISEA (Singapore), symposia in venues such as the Royal Institute of Art (Stockholm) and KHOJ International Artists’ Association (Delhi), and more recently, exhibited a collaborative video installation (Receding Triangular Square) at the 2012 Taipei Biennial. He researches and publishes on contemporary and public art and media, network cultures, copyright and assemblage theory, in journals such as CTheory, the International Journal of Cultural Studies and Theory Culture and Society.

Projects realized (Selection)
2013 Forthcoming exhibitions of Receding Triangular Square scheduled for San Francisco and Manilla. Research and selections for the inaugural International Award for Public Art (Shanghai) commissioned by Lewis Biggs. 2012 Interdisciplinary film research (Receding Triangular Square) resulting in a video installation for the 2012 Taipei Biennial. Sweden-India Exchange Program in contemporary art and theory funded by the Swedish Government and executed in collaboration with Prof. Ronald Jones (Konstfack), Amanda Newall (Royal Institute of Art), and Ola Johansson (Middlesex). 2011 Psychoanalysis and Art in India Symposium with participants Anita Dube, Sonia Khurana, Amar Kanwar, Kusum Dhar Prabhu, Angad Chowdhry.
